This picture is for Sarah

Sarah was sick and couldn't go to the zoo, so we took this picture of the baby giraffe for her. The giraffes are her favorite animals. We missed you Sarah.

Ashely's wants a new pet!

Ashley really liked the porcupine. She told me she wanted one for a pet.

Baby Elephant Watching...Or A Day At The Zoo With Kali

Friday we took Kali and Ashley and went to the Zoo. Kali had been wanting to go since the birth of the baby elephant "Zuri". Zuri is so cute, Kali and I just wanted to stay there and watch her play, in fact we did go back three times to watch her. We let Frank and Ashley go see the apes while Kali and I watched Zuri. I was amazed at how small Zuri was.

After we saw the elephants Kali and Ashley wanted to ride the carousel. Kali chose to ride an elephant (so she could go to school and tell her friends that she rode an elephant) and Ashley rode an eagle.

Ashley on the eagle.

We had lots of fun, and thought about the others that couldn't come because they were sick. Maybe next time Amanda, David and Sarah.

Kevin's Birthday

For Kevin's birthday he wanted a birthday cake that was half BYU and half University of Utah. He likes them both. So here is a picture of his cake, and a picture of Kevin. Kevin said he didn't know which one was his favorite, but notice which shirt he was wearing in the picture.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow...

The other day there was a double rainbow behind our house. The second rainbow is hard to see in the picture. Whenever I see rainbows I am reminded of this promise from Joseph Smith.

Prophesy delivered by President
Joseph Smith, March 10th 1844.
While enquiring of the Lord concerning the End of time, it was made known to him by the Holy Spirit, that there should be prosperity, seed time and harvest every year in which the Rainbow was seen, for to that was Noah refered as a surety on this subject,-- But in the year when the Bow was not to be seen, would commence desolation, calamity and distress among the Nations, without seed time or harvest,---And that the Revelation of the Son of Man from Heaven, would not be in this year, nor the next;" and he would say to his Millerite friends, that it would not be in forty years to come. He uttered all this in the name of the Lord, and said we should go home and write it--

#1 Bronco Fan

Kevin's wall

Kevin's door

Kevin and Christy have spent the last two weeks in Colorado having a fun time. One day we got the "great idea" to re-do their bedrooms while they were gone. We started with Kevin's room, and it took a lot longer than planned, so we didn't get to Christy's room. I even got brave and painted a Bronco on the wall. But Kevin's room looks really nice. I had lot of help, and it was so appreciated. One day I had Becky, Ashley, Amanda, Jennifer, Malarie, Kali all painting. It was fun, and we had lots of laughs. Thanks everyone for your help. Kevin was so excited when he got home, and saw his room.

Over The River And Through The Woods...

On July 17th we left to go to Colorado to visit our families. My Mom and Dad didn't know we were coming so it was a big surprise to them. It was a short trip, but we crammed tons of fun into the time we were there. This was our first stop...Blue Mountain, not to far out of Vernal. Kali really likes Blue Mountain, and wanted to stop and take a picture. We took Ashley, Amanda, David, Dalton, and Brooklyn with us. They were really good for the most part, and we had lots of fun with them.

Surprises, Hot Dogs, Smores, Scarey Ghost Stories...and....Sasquatch

Everything imaginable is at Karen's house.

We had scarey stories and even a Sasquatch sighting.

All You Really Need For A Good Time Is Sand, Water, and Family

On July 18, we went to the Sand Dunes. It was so fun.

Saturday Night At The Races.

Saturday night, July 18, we went to the races to watch Jodi, Sheri, Ren and Scott race. We had tons of fun, and Ashley, Amanda, David and Dalton won prizes (with Sheri's help) for dancing the YMCA.

Not What We Had Planned, But Plan B Was Fun.

Sunday July 19, 2009, we were suppose to go up to the mountains for a picnic, but it was raining and hailing up in the mountains, so we stayed at Grandma & Grandpa's house and had a picnic in the living room, and played bocce in the yard. It was really fun, and all the kids could play it from the youngest to the oldest.

Taking A Break

We stopped on Cochetopa Pass for a break and took this picture.

Back Over the River and Through The Woods

One of our favorite things to do on the way home from Colorado is to stop at the park in Montrose and feed the ducks and geese.

Ashley found a special feather.

July 4th--Let Freedom Ring

Forgive me for a personal aside, but I have lived my life a free man, and most of that life I have been oblivious to the price that has been paid for me. Now, I pray the God of Heaven that He will open the eyes of my children, that they may hold fast to those freedoms which are slipping away. I pray that every person will make this Declaration of Independence anew, that in their own hearts they will declare their independence from every form of tyranny and oppression under the sun, for as it has once been said, when freedom is lost, only blood will buy it back.
