Special Olympics Summer Games 2009

On May 28-30, we went to Special Olympics Summer Games in Provo at BYU. It was lots of fun and the athletes did really well. We even had some special guests. Karen, Scott, Sheri, Robert, Brecklyn, Lucy and Hailey came, and so did Jennifer, Brock, Dalton, Brooklyn and Abbie. It was so much fun to see, and spend time with them.

Lucy and Brooklyn had lots of fun plalying with each other.

GO FOR THE GOLD
Our soccer team got first in their division, so they got the gold medals. Kevin and Christy both played on the soccer team. They all worked really hard, and was so excited when they won.
A big thanks to all that came to cheer them on.
It made winning all the better. I am not sure which they liked better, winning or having lots of fans to cheer them on.

Guess Which Zoo Animal Is Kali's Favorite

If you guessed elephant you are right! I went on a field trip with the 5th grade to the zoo and Kali took these pictures and more of the elephant. The elephant will have a baby in the fall, and Kali can hardly wait to see the baby elephant.

We have a picture of Kali like this when she was younger. She wanted to see how much she has grown.

Please Blow Out The Candles So The Rest Of Us Can Have Some Birthday Cake

Paul's birthday was May 18th. Paul, Amanda and Tory came out the day before to see Abbie Ann. So we had a bar-b-que at Brock and Jennifer's house and birthday cake. Dalton loves birthday cake and was sooooo excited to have Paul's birthday.

Don't Fall Asleep!!

On May 9th Sarah and Kali had National Dance Competition at Lagoon. Sarah and Kali both took friends with them. It was a lot of fun. The motel was overbooked, so our room got upgraded, and it had a jacuzzi in it, and Kali loved it.
Sarah and McKenna used the jacuzzi to brush their teeth with the bathroom was busy.

This is one of Kali's favorite rides, THE SCRAMBLER.

This is Sarah the Zombie. She had to dress like this for one of her dances, she did three dances that day, and Kali did one. They both did really well, Kali got first in hers, and Sarah got two firsts and a second, and the Powerhouse got an overall trophy. Sarah and her friends did the Zombie dance at 8:00 p.m. and then they went and rode the rides in their zombie costumes. People's reactions to them was pretty funny, especially when they went to Dracula's castle.

Once there was a snowman...

For Easter we went to my Mom & Dad's house. We planned on warm weather, going to the sand dunes, and the gater farm. What we got was snow all day on Easter. It was still lots of fun. It always is at Grandma & Grandpa's house, no matter what the weather. Grandma had to make cookies becsause we ate them all and Dalton loved them, so Alex and Dalton had to help her. Dalton loved the cookie dough so much he had to stick his head all the way to the bottom of the bowl to lick the cookie dough out of the bottom.

You've heard that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade...well when it snowed all day on Easter, Dalton, Casey and I made a snowman. We didn't have winter clothes, after all it was April, as a matter of fact, Dalton wore sandals on his feet and socks on his hands. Our snowman didn't last too long, it fell down not too long after it was built. We blamed that on Casey, but Dalton was impressed, and we had a great time. Thanks Mom and Dad for the good times and all the good memories.
